Event Summary

CALL TO ACTION SUMMIT 2015 for ending preventable child and maternal deaths was co-hosted by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, along with Ministry of Health Government of Ethiopia, USAID, UNICEF, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and Tata Trusts in New Delhi on August 27-28, 2015. 

The two-day Leadership Summit was a confluence of health ministers from the 24 priority countries that committed to the global Call to Action for Child Survival in June 2012, state health ministers from India, international academic experts, health practitioners, and global leaders from diverse sectors - corporate, civil society and media.

The project

The 2015 Call to Action Summit was a mega event that demanded a lot of coordination among the various agencies and organizations involved, providing hospitality to a large number of VIP/VVIP dignitaries including the Prime Minister of India. There was also a marketplace exhibition to go along with the main event and that required tremendous logistics as well as management of a large number of vendors.

The execution

Driven by its core values and emboldened by the vast amount of experience in its kitty, Indiattitude delivered an extremely successful event that showcased India’s prowess at hosting large scale international conferences at ease. Preparations for this event were done on a mammoth scale and it took more than 20 thousand man-hours by a crew comprising of more than 300 members to deliver a meticulous event which saw all involved parties and the high level dignitaries enjoy seamless and hassle free participation in the 2 day Summit.

The event was organized at the prestigious Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi and was spread over several halls and outdoor spaces. There was a highly creative marketplace built to display the five core elements of the Summit, i.e. Systems, Partnerships, Innovations, Convergence and Evidence. The Prime Minister of India Sh. Narendra Modi inaugurated the Summit and also inspected the marketplace. In his opening address, he highlighted the country’s success and goals in terms of ending preventable mother and child deaths and exhorted the participating nations as well as organizations to make stronger efforts towards eliminating this evil that swallows millions of lives every year. The event also witnessed several highly informative and interactive sessions where speeches were delivered by eminent personalities from the participating nations and organizations. There was a lively and colourful cultural program that highlighted various regions of India and mesmerized the foreign dignitaries with India’s rich traditions and finesse in the field of art and culture.

The highly enriching and successful event demonstrated the global willingness to come together and work towards better living for all. The efficient and smooth management of this grand Summit by Indiattitude was lauded by all the organizers and delegates and we are glad to have added another achievement to our illustrious list of events managed.
